Week One (June 14th 18th):  Welcome Week

New friends, new schedules, learning the ropes and the rules, packing our science kits, and just hanging out and getting to know our own ‘home base.’

Week Two (June 21st 25th):  Meteorology

Happy  First Day of Summer (6/21)!  It’s time to explore hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, and more.  We will make our own ‘tornadoes’ and track our ‘weather patterns.’

Week Three (June 28th July 2nd):  Astronomy

Time to travel to outer space in our ‘space ships.’  We will explore the world beyond the capabilities of our natural eye-sight, explore the complexities of gravity, and make our own solar system models.

Week Four (July 5th July 9th):  Entomology

Creepy crawly insects.  Flying up in the sky or crawling low to the ground, insects are all around & we will learn what makes them ‘buzz.’

Week Five (July 12th July 16th):  Earth Science

Earthquakes, volcanoes, sedimentary rocks, fossils and more.  We will make our own volcanoes and crystal formations.

Week Six (July 19th July 23rd):  Botany

From the rainforest to the Great Barrier Reef, we will be exploring the various ecosystems and create our own garden ‘plots.’

Week Seven (July 26th July 30th):  Technology

Living in the age of computers…what would we do without electricity?  We will explore the use of ‘simple machines’ and create our own ‘telephones.’

SPANISH CAMP Week Eight (August 2nd August 6th): Human Body

We are so excited to welcome Senora Traci back to our CH Summer Camp!  She will be helping us learn all about the ‘human body.’

SPANISH CAMP Week Nine (August 9th August 13th):  Zoology

Why do zebras have stripes?  We will spend the week exploring indigenous animals from one continent to the next.

Week Ten (August 16th August 19th):  Oceanography

“Sally sells seashells by the seashore.”  We will be wrapping up the summer with a good –old fashioned picnic.
