Extracurricular Activities During the School Day

Movement

Movement classes are determined prior to winter weather and are offered from an outside specialist based on availability to serve our program needs.  In past years we have worked with Gymboree on the Go, Jump Bunch, and offered sessions in yoga and aerobics. These programs are offered as part of our school day curriculum and have not yet been contracted for a specific day. Music

Music this year will continue on Thursdays. Linda Bunting, a certified Makin’ Music teacher, will continue teaching music for her 5th year at CH.  Ms. Linda is looking forward to continuing the music curriculum she has established with our CH students and will be adding innovative curriculum activities to the children’s experiences.

Spanish

This year will be on Tuesdays and Meg Campbell Barajas will be teaching for the 7th year.  Ms. Meg is a past CH parent and flue nt in Spanish (she even spends her summers in Spain).  She is anxious to continue working with our students and working with the staff to include Spanish activities on their classroom shelves.

Children's House Montessori School Extracurricular Activities offered by outside providers

Soccer will be offered during After School Care on Mondays.

Karate will be offered in After School Care on Tuesdays.

TechStars for Tots will be offered in After School Care on Wednesdays.

Suzuki Violin lessons are available to students ages 3 and up through Darlington Arts Center. A teacher comes to Children’s House on Wednesdays to teach the classes.

Dance will be offered in After School Care on Thursdays.

Playfit will be offered in After School Care on Fridays

Before and After School Care programs are available.
